Ricky Norris was born in Hawaii, raised amidst the beauty of culture layered upon culture. Hawaii taught him to slow down though the current may be fast; his Japanese grandmother taught him to thrive in unfamiliar places; and his years in California and work abroad taught him the compelling art of story.
It’s these experiences that make Ricky’s work all about the care of culture and the humans that inhabit it. Ricky’s heart is to listen to the stories that people share, contemplate their journeys, and find where hope breaks through the realities of our world. His work is not only for documentaries, but also for corporate storytelling, branding, and everything in between.
Ricky currently lives in San Diego with his beautiful wife and girls, and works as a freelance director, cinematographer and editor.
